G&G Image, a subsidiary of Ninestar, a global leader in sustainable printing solutions, today confirmed that its state-of-the-art remanufacturing facility in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, has officially begun trial operations.

Years in the making, this strategic initiative responds to two key pieces of European legislation: the Single-Use Plastics Directive (EU) 2019/904, effective as of July 3, 2021, and the Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, which will take effect from August 12, 2026. These policies establish binding targets for the reuse and recycled content of plastics across the EU.
The facility is a declaration of Ninestar Image’s unwavering commitment to supporting the European Parliament’s call for sustainable transformation. It signals a major step forward in ensuring that both printer OEMs and aftermarket providers deliver high-quality, environmentally responsible printing solutions aligned with Europe’s growing circular economy.
The Heart of Green Production in Europe
Hungary’s central location, the historical "crossroads between East and West", is key to this strategic investment. Its excellent connectivity via air, land, and sea allows G&G to offer unprecedented supply chain efficiency, shorter lead times, and faster responsiveness across the continent.
This facility is strategically positioned as Europe's central hub for sustainable imaging supplies, exclusively dedicated to the efficient remanufacturing and reuse of used printing consumables.
“This is more than a factory,” said Eric Zhang, General Manager of Ninestar Image. “It’s G&G delivering on a decade-long promise to our European partners and the planet.”
He added, “By establishing local production, we dramatically cut down on transport emissions, ensure a rapid, reliable supply, and embed ourselves deeper into the local community. This is sustainable manufacturing that truly serves.”
Connecting Global Expertise with Local Value
Leveraging G&G Image’s sophisticated global R&D in ink technology, chip resetting, and advanced process engineering, the Hungary hub draws on decades of proven remanufacturing expertise. This enables a robust closed-loop system, guaranteeing both the stable collection of used cartridges and the high-performance output of remanufactured products.
Spanning 2,018 square meters, the facility has an initial design capacity of up to 6 million units annually. More importantly, it is poised to immediately create over 100 new, high-value job opportunities for the people of Székesfehérvár, strengthening G&G's role as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to local economic growth.
Driving a Greener Future, Together
By fostering robust local remanufacturing within Europe, G&G is actively reducing its carbon footprint and accelerating a true closed-loop recycling model, which is directly aligned with the continent’s ambitious environmental goals.
“We are setting a new standard where environmental responsibility and high-performance quality are inseparable,” Eric concluded. “Hungary is a pivotal launchpad for our continued expansion in sustainable global operations.”
